It must be said though that we need more support to make these projects continue to happen. As it is we only have enough finance to assist a further 20 families, with many more on the waiting list. Also we need to attract sponsors to help with a building project in the DRC.....

Our next stop was to the Congo and on the very day we arrived ranger Buzara was shot tortured and murdered by rebels/ poachers when his patrol was ambushed and out numbered. Buzara and his colleagues put up a good fight but when he ran out of bullets, they were overrun by the poachers who outnumbered them seven to one....

Next stop was Uganda, where I was reunited with Park ranger, friend and star of the film Mr John Makombo. When filming, John was chief ranger in charge of mountain gorillas in Uganda, but now thankfully for John and conservation he is deputy director of the Ugandan Wildlife Authority.....

I was honored to receive the Honorary Lifetime Rangers Award from the Californian Park Rangers association of California and to present the world rangers’ story to a crowd of 300 Californian rangers....
