Opera House Goes Green
Opera House goes green
March 2008
The Thin Green Line story has also been presented to 1500 CEOs and business men and women at the Young professionals (YPO) conference and I was fortunate enough to speak to them all in the grand Sydney Opera House concert hall. In the 20 minutes the business leaders learnt of the rangers’ struggles and the crowd was surprised to learn the 200 red dots given out as they entered weren’t lucky door prizes but symbolised the sad reality of the number of rangers killed in the Congo in the last few years. When all those with red dots stood up it showed them graphically the cost many rangers have paid around the world.
Fellow speakers included Mal Young – the Homeless World Cup Soccer, Cameron Sinclair – Habitat for Humanity, Dr Fiona Wood, Jan Uytzen, James Morrison and more, We’ve also had great presentations at the Gold Coast supported by then Mayor Ron Clarke, and at the leadership forum in Central Victoria.
